With support by Drew Sullivan himself, this is "A Song That Will Help You Remember To Forget" by Slow Dancing Society. http://www.myspace.com/slowdancingsociety It was hard to choose just one song off his debut album "The Sound of Lights When Dim", so I urge you to listen to the whole record instead when you have the chance. If you want to show SDS your support and don't mind sparing a few bucks while you're at it, you can buy his albums here: http://agora.hiddenshoal.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=13 Enjoy! :)
Taken from the EP "We Don't Look Back For Very Long" which sees Antonymes reworking a track from each of fellow Hidden Shoal artist Slow Dancing Society's four albums, casting radiant new light on the stunning originals. Across almost 30 minutes, Antonymes marries SDS's glistening atmospheres to his own trademark ambient neo-classical minimalism, creating a completely mesmerising hybrid. Following on from the ebullient warmth of the critically acclaimed Priest Lake Circa '88, '...and to the dust we shall return' is the perfect introduction to Drew Sullivan's latest ambient epic, Under The Sodium Lights. Accompanied by a stunning video by Latvian filmmaker Ieva Balode, this glorious seven-minute song sees the gradual accretion of reverberant guitar tones, emerging from the silence as sparse reflections across the stereo field. Slow searching melodies overlap and accumulate before a descending bass figure carries the song home to its elegiac conclusion. The song, like all Slow Dancing Society releases, resonates with a rich emotional core -- and the choking realisation of our own transience. The video for '...and to the dust we shall return' was created by Latvian filmmaker...
